Had a great time up North, watching the wide range of people at a casino. (Grand Casino Mille Lacs, if you must know. Cheap, clean hotel, proximity to the biggest lake in Minnesota (aside fromLake Superior,) and a boon to our relaxation.
Dropped some money in the casino playing a Monopoly Cash Flow slot machine, had a couple of so-so dinners. My two word review of the Grand Buffet. “It isn’t.” Best meal was takeout broasted chicken courtesy of the grocery store next door. We spent a lot of time in the hotel room napping, watching dreck on television, and snuggling/talking. It was heaven.
So we’ll be doing that again real soon. Not sure where we’ll go, as we’ll want to mix it up.
Downsides: I had a lovely head cold going a day before we left, so I battled that all weekend. Lots of snot, to put it bluntly. The smoke in the casino was somewhat aggravating, but I survived. This morning, I discovered that the cold had moved into my lungs, so I’m all coughy gravelly whistley now. Fred is in a full-blown head cold, and has trouble talking. He stayed home today. I slept in for an hour, and got to work late. And then had to fight the urge to come home.
Sleep is good.
2 things:
1) Mucinex works wonders for getting that crap out of your lungs,
and 2) never eat at a casino buffet, I’ve heard they’re not regulated by the Dept. of Health.
Hope you feel better!
