Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery

I’ll probably never imitate Al Franken.

I would feel bad if I didn’t note that I occasionally crib from Steve at Hog On Ice. He’s the master of the alternative title on his blog posts. While I’m not nearly as good at it as he is, I do like the format. So I’ll pay homage to him (ie. rip him off) by using the form now and then.

Stop judging me.

Hopefully there’s no need to feel bad, because I occasionally do the same thing. The first few times I did it, I credited him with it, but now I hope the free advertisement I give his cookbook is enough…

I don’t feel bad at all. I do it with a sort of malicious glee.

  3. You mean the subtitles? I’ve started using them too. Are they Steve’s invention or something? Should I credit him with the idea? I thought subtitles existed long before Steve started his blog.

  4. Keith says:

Sure, they existed. But he’s the one that inspired me to use them. And he’s damn good at it.

  5. No seriously, was he the first person to use them? I like to give credit where it is due, and I wasn’t aware that the subtitle trend may have been started by one blogger.

I have no idea if he was the first. He’s the first I noticed.
