Starrbooty

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

You better work.

Fred and I watched the RuPaul cinematic extravaganza Starrbooty tonight. RuPaul stars as a Supermodel/Secret Agent who goes undercover as a trashy ho, in an attempt to rescue her niece Cornisha. Total cheap-ass drag-queen movie, with bright over-saturated colors and a surprising amount of male full frontal nudity.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Absolutely ridiculous, and worth every penny of my Netflix account.

And it has The Lady Bunny in it, with a crotch full of fluffy blonde pubic hair laced with miniature dungeness crabs. How can you not like that?

Don’t answer.

The Best Website In the World

This website makes me very happy. In much the same way that blinky lit-up pushbuttons make me happy.

Aftermath

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

We had our annual Christmas party last night. While not as well-attended as past parties, it was a success.

The Twin Cities had a nice blanket of snow cooking, and things were apparently pretty slick on the other side of the metro. We had one die-hard make the trek from the far side, and it took him about ninety minutes to get here. It should have taken forty five. The other attendees were significantly closer.

So this year it was an intimate little gathering rather than the raucous crazy blowout of years past.

Highlights included significant amounts of ham, a Peaches and Cream pie, lots of shrimp, and a ridiculous gift exchange with lots of present stealing. (Inexplicably, the Madonna book went back and forth across the room.) I ended up with a very nice bottle of Cabernet. While I don’t drink wine, I do cook with it. So there’ll be some lovely burgundy beef or some stew in the very near future.

Mmmm. Stew.

It’s been a lazy day, as both Fred and I feel hung over. We didn’t drink much, but the whole party is one worrisome bitch to put together, and we both stress out over it. Once it’s done, we’re pretty much wrung dry.

One nice feature of this year: our last guest left at 10:30, and we had the place all cleaned up by 11:00. It was a treat to have the cleanup go so quickly.

And the sleep last night was DEEP.

Thanks to everyone that came last night. We hope you had a great time. And to those of you who missed this year’s event, sucks to be you. You’ll just have to wait until next year.

Oh, and Bruce was indeed the first to arrive and the last to leave.
